CHARLEVILLE FINALS

The weather was much improved and the pups left in the Stakes all ran the track far better today and we enjoyed some great buckles.

ALL AGE CUP

This was a popular local win for the Glory Newtown Syndicate.....headed by  Denis and Mark O`Mahony..........The final was won halfway up the field when Shandrum Bar put in a surge to just get the turn.

DERBY TRIAL STAKE

Kildonogue Billy  v Darkeyed Sailor

In the Final , a short slip saw a very messy course with the hare not leaving the guide wires and trying to jump through the netting...........only to then see both dogs get plenty of work............Judge Paul Horan called Back to slips...........for two tired dogs.

Working Billy

Up to this point,  for me Kildonogue Billy had impressed in the stake...........but I never look at clocks............
On this field however the clocks would have been unreliable as alot of courses were run in snatches with a few going slightly ofline or unsighted for part of the course.  The second day however was better in this respect
There was a short wait after the finals while owners assessed their charges and decided wether they would run again

Darkeyed Sailor with Amazing Dancer

Back to Slips

Second time out of slips saw  Darkeyed Sailor go to a 2 length lead only for a very brave Billy to dig deep and go to a three length win

Kildonogue Billy is a son of Eoin Rua............if they are all this tough he will  become a  very popular sire indeed!.............Billys dam,  Kilbreedy Time is owned by Frank Hickey..........and is yet another that goes back to Safety Leader.........This time through the Vacume branch of the family

Kilderry Wood ran well

OAKS TRIAL STAKE

This stake produce two great semi finals.........whittled down to four super bitches it was always going to be hard fought.

another close buckle between  Highland Glow and Solid Nora............ but its red again

So down to a Vacume Hyland  V  Highland Glow final.............it was the Vacume bitch who came out ontop,  a lovely bitch....out of the super brood Vacume Honey............this gave  Honey two  Stake winners over the weekend.......with Bexhill Brian winning the Cup at Castleisland. With Vacume Smasher taking the Oaks TS at Gorey it was  nice change the luck for the O`Sullivan kennels who have had a few RU postions of late............This certainly is a lovely line, yet again,  desending from the Safety Leader / Swanky line.... But this time Matt Hyland is the sire
