This last two seasons are seeing the emergence of some new young slippers .  One ive been most impressed with..........and Im not alone,   is Owen Doyle from Gorey.

Owen has been involved with dogs for as long as he can remember.   His father.....Eugene was a coursing Judge as well as being involved with track and coursing dogs.   Eugene runs a syndicate..........this took its name from a dog they first raced called Always now the Always Sober syndicate has a Nice all age bitch called Tilt your Kilt............a Trial Stake winner at Crohane last year.  Owen is hoping to fetch her out when shes ready to rock and roll so you have been warned! Tilt Your Kilt is a sister to Regional winner Ashwood Dee.....

Only 25 years old Owen has made a great impression on everyone so far...........hes a lovely quite way with the dogs and releases them very smothly............watching him at Regional  I was very impressed at his judgement of the hares.  Ill admit that this was helped by the excellent hares that were served up there,  but none the less just the right amount of work was given in the later stages of the stakes, to please the large crowds.

Last season Owen slipped at three meetings.........his home club , Gorey , East Donegal and Wexford.
This year he stepped in as a last minute replacement for Richie Quinn who has been experiencing back problems.

It was good to see the great assistance and advice that young slippers are being sure having the experience of  Richie Quinn on hand has been a help this season

I hope many more clubs will be looking to the future and giving the younger lads a chance..........

Owen and his Father are active club members of Gorey Coursing Club and have been on the team of workers that have helped transform the new running grounds.............These will be in action for the first time this season and looking at the profile in the Sporting Press it looks like the new Gorey field will rival anywhere.
Hoping for a great turnout at their  new grounds they are not short of Class in the Cup.......... as Derby winner Kingsmill Dynamo will be making a reappearance there............and im sure that top Bitch Kingsmill Bliss will be there too

At Regional...........Richie and Richard Quinn with Owen Doyle

So ...........Goreys Meeting is on the 24/25th October and Owen is back this hardworking club with your presence and see this talented young slipper for yourself
