Take Your Hat Off

To Pa Fitzgerald and his handling of the great Sandy a third season dog but as good as ever.
I wasnt at Kerry but im told Sandy Sea was awesome in the Kingdom Cup.
Im sure im not the only person whos looking forward to seeing him defend his Irish Cup
His amazing record stands at 47 runs..........won 43!!..........all top class.

Give him a kiss from me Pa!

From the same Kennel it was good to see Kerry Call get his Ticket

and take his place with litter brother Kerry Calling at Clonmel

Coolcastle Point

Sadly Coolcastle Points accident put a dent on a otherwise great day............a hugely fast dog whos career has been riddle with injury.   I hope he recovers soon to take his place as a stud dog.

For anyone whos not been to Ballyragget.............its a lovely wide long field run by a super hard working club. Despite trying conditions, hard work and dedication kept the meeting on the road with little delay. The field was covered and salted both days.  It was a bitterly cold weekend and the club can feel proud of a well run meeting with good hares.
The Kilkenny Flag over the escape

Two dogs stood out in this Cup and both were close in the betting. It was good to see both these dogs fight it out in the final , which was as close as the betting............a great buckle saw Wallace Rock getting his head in front at the turn .

Wallace Rock
Wallace Rock, a litter brother to Wallace Green is another fine winner for Carrick Sam who keeps notching up the winners as a brood and  could be a close runner again for Brood of the Year. He was bred by Pearse O`Hagan  and is owned by Brendon Matthews and Terry McCann

Rock .........a very handy dog in his own right won his Trial Stake at Enniscorthy after running up at Lochrea, he then won the Cup at Wexford as a pup, but missed out on running at Clonmel.  This year has seen the same consistancy. A finalist at New Ross and todays win sees him on 6 points
