Mr John Codd RIP

Mr John Codd, President of Enniscorthy Coursing Club, stalwart working member of the Enniscorthy Club for over 70 years and member of the Irish Coursing Club’s Hall of Fame passed away peacefully in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 28th September).

John was pre-deceased 34 years ago by his wife Kitty.

The Codd family have been involved for generations in greyhound sport in Co Wexford and their Cushie prefix is known far and wide. The Enniscorthy coursing meeting moved to their farm at The Woodlands in 1997.

John was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame on Saturday 28th March 2009 and on being informed of his Award said “I accept it on behalf of all those who have played their part in helping to maintain the high standards of coursing at Enniscorthy”.

This quiet man of coursing will be very sadly missed by all who knew him.

John is reposing at the home of his son Tom and daughter in law Marea.

House private until 2pm on Wednesday. Leaving the house at 7pm on Wednesday for the Church in Ballindaggin, Enniscorthy.

Funeral Mass at 11am on Thursday and burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

No Flowers. Donation if desired to the Irish Red Cross.

Our sympathy to his children Pat, John, Kathleen,Ann, Mark, Tom, Mary, Theresa, Mairead and Pauline, grandchildren, relations, friends and members of Enniscorthy CC at this sad time.

May John Rest In Peace.
