A couple of good performances at Castleisland ...........Winner of the Bitch Cup...........Beautiful Chrissie  , owned and trained by Niel Herbert traveled over from England for 10 days to take in a couple of meetings............a great performance from this lovely bitch to lift TWO cups for her delighted owner

Its all non stop at the moment,  I had a great day at Gorey yesterday , Geoff heads back there with two of runners who are left in the Oaks and Bitch all age.  Im heading off for Thurles today and the morning looks a good one.

I must say Gorey CC have done a great job with the new field ............more work through the summer has lenghtened  the field and raised the slippers hut.....its a club that goes from strength to strenght with a hard working membership....well done.

PADDY FITZGERALD RIP

It is with great sadness I report the death of Paddy Fitzgerald (Adare). Paddy ,a  lifelong coursing supporter and constant companion of Pa Fitzgerald will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Fitzgerald family in this terrible time. Our thoughts are with you.

SALEEN O`CONNORS

I took the opportunity last week to drop in on the O`Connor family from Saleen.  It had been a glorious day at Abbeydorney and the evening was like summer when I arrived late afternoon.  Even though dogs were off to run at Limerick Track , the family still took time to show me round and feed me.

Theres a great family back up in this Kennel ,  Patrick holds the licence  , but a family member is never far away, with them all living next door each other.  Something that must be handy when theres multiple meetings to attend

First port of call....after a cup of tea! was to see Razor Ashmore,  he looks a picture and had a good gallop round the 10 acre paddock.

What a super dog this is.........looking forward to seeing his pups run this year...........although he only has 4 litters I'm sure well see something nice emerge once the ground softens up.

once the rain comes a switch can be made to a fresh gallop.both had a fabulous cover of well maintained grass

Thankyou very much to Fermoy and Grange for putting on two superdays coursing.   Hard work was done by the club to combat the hard ground.............they did a excellent job and the ground was yielding without being slippy.  Hare were strong and gave the dogs a fair runaround and Nial Flynn,  back from injury this year was in great form in the slipping hut.....judging hares to perfection.
