First brace in slips 11.30am each day.



Friday:

Start with First Round of the JP McManus Irish Cup then First round of Inter Club Champion Working Members Stake (before interval).

First round of the Irish Purse and Second round of the Inter Club Champion Working Members Stake (after interval).



Saturday:

Start with Second round of the JP McManus Irish Cup followed by First Round of the Select Champion Bitch Stake (before interval).

Third round of JP McManus Irish Cup, Second round of Select Champion Bitch Stake, Second round of the Irish Purse and First round of the Irish Plate (after the interval).



Sunday:

Start with First round of Earl of Dunraven Kilgobbin Stake, Third round of Inter Club Champion Working Members Stake and complete card

IRISH CUP TRIALS

Yesterday the Irish Cup ran a marathon session of trials as a workout for their hares.  I must say the hares were mighty.............getting a close up view of them you could see the condition and shine they carried and they ran like champions.

Rural Ireland Says Enough!


FACE Ireland and the Hunting Association of Ireland have formed RISE! Rural Ireland Says Enough! to campaign at national, regional and local level to mobilise public and political opinion in support of our traditional field sports and rural pastimes. Together, these organisations represent more than 300,000 adherents of country sports.



FACE is the Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU, a non-profit making, non-governmental organisation that has acted in the interests of over seven million European hunters since its foundation in 1977. The steering group of RISE! includes representatives of FACE Ireland, the HAI, and the Ward Union Hunt
 
There are three imminent threats to rural sports:


•The Dog Breeding Establishments Bill 2009, proposed by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, is currently awaiting its first debate in the Seanad.

•The same Ministers Wildlife (Amendment) Bill, which includes a ban on stag hunting, is scheduled to be published between now and Easter.

•The Animal Health and Welfare Bill is being drafted by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

These proposals represent part of a wider, fundamentalist Green agenda being foisted on people.

Haiti Disaster Fund Charity Auction

There will be a charity Auction the coming Saturday 20th of Febuary at Shelbourne Park  in aid of the Haiti Disaster.

One item on offer....... that may be of interest is a pair of Antique Leather Coursing Slips, Circa 1890

TIPPERARY COURSING CLUB

What a super weekend we had at Galbally coursing grounds last weekend.  Fair play to Tipperary club who took no chances with the weather.........covering the grounds early the week before and again on Saturday night.
Their hard work paid off and we were treated to good coursing of strong hares..........and glorious sunshine as well!

Lots of good quality stakes on offer and one last chance for the dogs not engaged in the Irish cup to show their worth.

She gamely fought off some nice bitches to take this stake in good style.
