MUCKY KENNELS
Last week I picked the worst of weather to make a visit to Macroom. in Co Cork....The last time I visited the Mucky Kennels, back in 2005, it was just a field and pure imagination.
Arriving at the gates I could see the dream had unfolded
Attention to detail everywhere has produced a super place . Don tells me they visited many top kennels to get ideas and tried to use the best from all, It is extreamlly well thought out and well planned to make life easy to work and a great place for dogs to live
Part of main kennel block
Runs attached to kennels make turnout easy plus time in grass runs gives them a varied day
James making up the feeds in a well stocked kitchen....best meat is bought in
The Buckelys own a fine Hotel in Macroom and any leftovers come in handy feeding the pups.
Every dog on the place looked in great order, anyone looking for pups to be reared should give this kennel consideration as the facillities second to none
Theres a great all weather gallop with traps
James Kelleher with Eamonn and Don Buckley with Mucky Betty
MUCKY EAMONN
This cracking dog is by a Derby winner out of a Oaks winner. He had a super litter in the paddock and must be worth consideration by breeders.
Mucky Eamonn will be running all age again next season along with Mucky Betty
MUCKY BETTY
A TS winner last year in Cappoquin, Betty also ran to the Kitty Butler semi finals , beaten by the winner Madtogoagain.
She is by Castle Pines out of Mucky Kate and is a litter sister to Fleetwood Dan, Tipperary Puppy Cup winner
Some of next seasons Saplings
Bexhill Eoin x Beautiful Smile
Bexhill Eoin x Mucky Hannah
Track pups being reared
Hard at Work
James in his grooming room.....it is fully equiped with walker , weighing scales ,
ultra sound machines etc
There is a Jacuzzi and a swimming pool
These smashing pups are by Eamonn out of Mucky Kate
Kate is a litter sister to Quarrymount Man and Mayor Durkan
MUCKY KATE
All pups are kept in good size paddocks and get turned into a larger field every other day

He Does it again!
Pony racing was off to Ballingarry (Limerick) last weekend and it was great to see Richard maintain last his winning run. This time it was on talented two miler Rosie O`Grady .........the week before she was left at the start and made up alot of ground to be a fast finnish 3rd. No mistakes were made this time.....although it was a competive race Richard took the short way round and romped away with the BALLINGARRY DERBY......and a cool 1000 euro race.

PONY RACING
Yes I know......it has nothing to do with Coursing but theres not much Coursing going on so I popped along to Abbeyfeale Pony Races yesterday. Theres one or two Coursing Families who pass away the summer months racing poinies and I was pleased to see Richard Condon ride his first winner there yesterday
Its not easy for small family stables to get winners as the larger set ups tend to dominate
The style that Richard rode shows hes got the talent so lets hope this pony continues to improve
Good Luck

Wild Hares at Altcar
I came across this video on Youtube.............it was made before the UK Coursing ban. Its interesting to see him write that there are very few Hares now...They are shot!......
Here is a comment from a local person
"Ive read the comments with interest as i actualy live localy, and i have to say before the ban was introduced the whole area was very protective of the hare. you could see them everywhere. the local farmers and gamekeepers would protect them as if they were there own animals.
yet today its very hard to spot a hare running around the fields near altcar. it seems rather than protecting them, the ban seems to have actualy reduced there numbers.
im not a hunter by the way, i just walk localy."
How sad............You have misguided Antis who try to ban Coursing and now they have they have succeeded in reducing the population to nearly Zero
