NENAGHs NEW FIELD

This morning I popped in to see Nenagh Coursing Clubs new Field............for the last few years they have shared a meeting with Borris in Ossory.  Thisyear they run for the first time on their new field .  Ive heard that they have big plans for the place but  I was blown away with what I saw.

The field is on a nice rise and already is shaping up to look like Tipperarys version of Castleisland

They have invested big in quality fencing everywhere and the whole place shines of attention to detail

Nenaghs meeting will run on 18 / 19 December

Paddy Ryan was doing a great job, digging in the netting on the hare fields

The  course is in excellent condition....fenced off and mowed all year it now has a lovely cushion to it

The hare park is a good size and will be devided into three to keep fresh grazing

WORKING MEMBERS

Spare a thought for all those working members........We have them all to thank for our sport.Without the hundreds of members giving up their time for the love of coursing there would be no sport.

Us ladies all know its far easier to get a Hare Enclosure put up than a book shelve!

here's some workers putting the hours in....I must say that stretch at Glin is looking in great order!

NEWS

Not long before the off and the Coursing season gets underway

There are reports from all clubs that hares have flourished and are about in high numbers.  This is great news and comes on the back of last seasons excellent Hares we saw running up the field.   Record numbers were released back into the wild by clubs, who did a fne job on husbandry......keeping them in first class condition.

Looks like we are set for yet another year of great coursing............this nice drizzle of daily rain will be doing its job and we can hope for good conditions underfoot for the early meetings

Heres a few pictures from this seasons hare catching with the Regional

where would coursing be without the hordes of children who love it

Date Changes

There have been one or two date changes....so far

Liscannor and Kilflynn will kick off the 2010/11 coursing season on Sunday 26th September with both clubs due to complete their meetings on Monday 27th September.

Advertisements for these two very popular meetings appear on this week’s Sporting Press.

New Ross have been allotted Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October for their meeting so they will now course on the same weekend as Glin.

Other changes on the fixture list are Ballinagar (now course Thursday 28th and Friday 29th October) and Roscommon (now course Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th January).

Old Kilcullen / Athy Open appear on the fixtures list at the end of December but this may change.

Templetuohy and Sevenhouses may also try to avoid a clash on January 8th and 9th if at all possible.

Meanwhile the Fantasy Coursing entry forms continue to appear on the Sporting Press. Entries must be submitted no later than Friday 24th September.

Give it a go !!!

DESK DIARY

I am printing a A5 size Desk Diary.............It is full of last seasons photos and top dogs...........has a page per week with this seasons coursing dates printed on them.........plus plenty of space for notes

It will work out in the region of 20 euros.......please let me know if your interested.....Yvonne
